In 2004 and again in 2005, Gibson & Gibson Antique Lighting was called on by the White House to re-create historic light fixtures for on-going renovations. Below are images showing the process of creating the fixtures. The final image is a tight shot of the installed fixture. Secret Service precautions have prevented us from showing more. Click on the images for larger versions. The links just below will take you to articles that appeared in the San Diego Union-Tribune and The Washington Post and Architectural Digest. The last two links will take you to an interactive tour of the Whitehouse, and a page about the Cabinet Room with a short video. |
